Who we are

Healthcare navigation, built with community.

Ya Estoy Aquí Healthcare Collective helps newcomers in Toronto who don't have OHIP find healthcare.

We create practical healthcare navigation tools, share trusted information, and work with communities and service providers to address the barriers newcomers face when seeking care. Our work is shaped by lived experience, frontline practice, and ongoing relationships with the people who use these services.

We work alongside organizations to support the communities they serve, bringing healthcare knowledge, lived experience and relationships built through community work.

  • ✓ Healthcare and settlement navigation for the people you serve, in your setting or alongside your staff: helping them understand their healthcare options and find services that accept IFHP, UHIP, or people without insurance
  • ✓ Community outreach, health education and workshops, planned and run together with you
  • ✓ Coordinating a program or workshop series with partners: scheduling, outreach, facilitation and follow-up

    Published by Ya Estoy Aquí · Launched with Toronto Ontario Health Teams

    Our second healthcare navigation manual, for people living in Toronto without OHIP or under the Interim Federal Health Program, and for the people who support them. We wrote, edited, illustrated and published it, working with community members who shared their experiences and professionals who reviewed the content. Launched with support from several Toronto Ontario Health Teams, with French translation supported by Ontario Health.

    Our first healthcare navigation manual, for people living in Toronto with expired or no immigration status. We made it as a special tribute to the Latinx community, with resources for everyone living in the city.

  • Routes to Care

    Developed jointly with Soli*City (Toronto Metropolitan University)

    A step-by-step guide to pregnancy care in Toronto and the GTA for people without OHIP or secure immigration status, with a service directory and a map. Developed with Soli*City at Toronto Metropolitan University. Available in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.

  • Growing Together

    With MNLC · North York

    A workshop series for families and children, bringing health information and practical support into a community setting. A collaboration between Ya Estoy Aquí and MNLC.

  • Immunization Navigator

    Developed by Ya Estoy Aquí

    An online tool that shows where a person stands in Ontario's routine immunization schedule, including catch-up, from their date of birth and vaccine history, including records from other countries. Meant to support clinical judgment, not replace it.

    If you notice a problem with the Immunization Navigator, please use the feedback form at the bottom of the page. This helps us understand the issue and fix it more quickly. Corrections to Routes to Care are welcome too.
